The National Association of Parliamentarians have a Youth Committee, and are committed to organizations like 4-H, to promote youth voices in communities. They want 4-H members to join them for one day of their national conference in Portland.
For just a $36 fee, 4-H members will be their guest for an exclusive luncheon, observe experts in action during a business meeting!, learn more about how to participate effectively in a meeting, receive tools for use back home, and enjoy young parliamentarians present workshops:
(1) “Bazinga! An Introduction to Parliamentary Procedure for Youth and Beginners” presented by Brandon Walters who currently works in the Alabama Secretary of State’s Office and is a member of the NAP Youth Committee, and
(2) “What’s Next? What Do I Do When?” presented by Kevin Wendt, an instructor in Minnesota.
4-H members in middle school or high school are invited to attend “Youth Day” on Saturday, September 7, 2013, 8:30 to 3:30, at the Downtown Hilton and Executive Tower (921 SW Sixth Ave. in Portland. An adult is welcome to join the day for the same registration fee. Space is limited. Register early.
